“Loving others, including those who may feel like enemies, can sometimes feel impossible. Christian Science proves that loving your enemy is not only possible, it is natural.”
– Giulia Nesi Tetreau
About the lecture
Loving your enemies can sometimes feel impossible. Christian Science proves that loving your enemy is not only possible, it is natural. But what does it look like to lead with Love, instead of hate? The study of this divine Science and answering Christ Jesus’ call to “love your enemies” in your life replaces anger, hurt, and injustice with forgiveness, freedom, and peace.
Sharing examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science, Ms. Tetreau will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy.
Ms. Tetreau will also touch on the life of Mary Baker Eddy, who came to understand, confirm, and teach what she felt was original Christian healing. Eddy herself said she was especially inspired by Jesus’ demand, “He that believes on me, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do, because I go unto my Father” (found in the Gospel of John 14:12 in the Bible).
For over 150 years, people around the world have worked to follow Christ Jesus in this practice of Christianity and continue to do so today, experiencing healings of physical ills and personal difficulties.
About our speaker
Giulia Nesi Tetreau, CSB
A few years into her career as a psychotherapist, Giulia Nesi Tetreau felt empty inside. She had everything she’d been taught would make her happy but instead was dissatisfied and restless, yearning for something deeper. That’s when she was introduced to Christian Science through Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, a book by religious reformer, Mary Baker Eddy. In it, she found a shared sacred space with the author and experienced a profound sense of coming home.
Some years later, Giulia was compelled to leave her psychotherapy practice to focus completely on her Christian Science healing practice. Giulia describes it as, “an imperative demand from within me—I had to be true to myself. ‘His word is in my heart like a fire…I am weary of holding it in.’ (Jer 20:9 (NIV)) I needed to practice in the way I understood would be most helpful.”
Since then, sharing the revolutionary message contained in the pages of Science and Health has been the cornerstone of her life.
Giulia Nesi Tetreau has been a Christian Science practitioner for many years, helping people on a daily basis through this scientific approach to prayer. She travels from her home base in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA, to speak to audiences around the world as a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
