A Look at Christian Science Branch Church Collaboration: Then and Now

Sunday, March 19, 2023

What can we learn from early Christian Science branch churches?

How might we apply those ideas today?

Join us Sunday afternoon, March 19th, for a three-part event:

  • Learn more about how the Christian Science branch church movement was built
  • Hear some highlights about current regional joint initiatives
  • Consider new possibilities for collaboration among Southern California branch churches to strengthen and build our movement

Sunday, March 19th, 2:30 to 4:30* PM, Pacific

Berkeley Hall School, Los Angeles

* Refreshments to follow. Please be sure to RSVP!

WHAT

We’ll begin with a historical presentation about some of the ways the early Christian Science movement was built. Our speaker, Cindy Safronoff, will share how early branch churches worked together, demonstrating a tangible sense of unity, something considered to be essential by church founders.

Next, we’ll hear about current joint efforts from Washington State to Southern California including “Compass the City”, a 2022 Christian Science Monitor outreach project of the Christian Science Literature Joint Distribution Committee in Bothell, Washington as well as the work of the Christian Science Joint Media Committee of Southern California, and more.

After the presentations, mingle among others who love Christian Science, sharing new ideas while enjoying sweet and savory refreshments in the spirit of unity and fellowship.

We look forward to spending a thought provoking and meaningful afternoon with you!
